Glendalough/Wicklow Mts

Another amazing trip!! Once again, I failed to get a good amount of sleep beforehand. Last night for Halloween we went to a club and left at 3:00 only to wait ONE HOUR in the rain to wait for a taxi. It was ridiculous! You would think it was the middle of the day with all the people wandering around.

I enjoyed the beautiful 1 1/2 hour bus ride to Glendalough. I have to say the countryside is spectacular! It would normally cost 20 euros to take the bus to Glendalough, but since I was with the hiking club we only paid 6 euro.

I hiked for a total of about 5 hours, while the majority of the group only went for about 2. We were warned that the if we did not have proper hiking gear (waterproof jacket/pants/boots etc.) we should not attempt the hike. I came in sneakers, jeans, and a sweatshirt (not prepared AT ALL). I didn't care and wanted to get to the top of the mountain, so we went :)

This wasn't just a nice trail we were hiking, it was intense. We hiked through heavy flowing water, climbed rocks, and fought the heavy wind and rain for a good portion of the hike. It was well worth it when we got to the top! It stopped raining once we reached that point and with the wind at our backs it was an enjoyable hike back! We made an entire circle around the Wicklow Mountains... it was amazing!
